I honestly can’t believe that it’s February… we are really getting into the first quarter of the year. Crazyyyyy. How was your February? Did anything exciting happen?
I’d never been to Spain before and after our trip to Morocco, Lisa and I headed to Seville, Spain for a few days. You guys, it was amazing. First of all, after being in Asia/Africa for months to be in a country where I could buy clothes was amazing. Lisa and I might have gotten emotional at the Mac store.
Also, I loved eating tapas and drinking wine. Lisa and I had the cutest Air BnB and it was just a really nice trip. We had a great mix of relaxing and recovering from Morocco to shopping and also exploring the city. The only problem was? Three nights was NOT enough time.
A layover in New York City
After a few days in Spain, it was time to head state bound! I had an overnight layover in NYC and like the blonde that I am, I didn’t realize it until a few days before leaving. WHOOPS. Luckily I have a good friend, Gina, who lives in NYC and she graciously offered to host me for the night. It was so nice to see her!
We went to a market in Brooklyn the day of my flight and I actually ran into a sorority sister. Isn’t that crazy?! Such a small world.
The whole reason I went to the states during my month long break was because I was helping my school recruit new teachers at an international job fair in San Francisco. My school graciously flew me out a few days early so my best friend and mom could meet me and we could explore San Fran!
We had a complete blast. We did touristy things, ate In ‘N Out, went shopping (I could barely fit everything in my suitcase I bought so much stuff in America…) and just hung out. It was so nice to see them!
B’s Birthday and Valentine’s Day!
After getting back to Shanghai, it was a whirlwind weekend as B turned 28 and it was Valentine’s Day! We planned a really fun weekend– Friday we went out with all of our friends for his birthday, Saturday we did something just us, and Sunday he surprised me by taking me to Shanghai Disneyland (my fourth time…. shhhh don’t judge)! B also surprised me by taking me to brunch at the Shanghai Disneyland hotel, which had a Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant with free flow champagne and a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN.
Yeah, he did well.
Every month I like to share what not so fun things happened, but as I racked my brain about February, believe it or not, I couldn’t think of too much. Of course life isn’t perfect, but everything bothering me is super menial. Work stress, grad school, etc. Since I was traveling most of this month, I really don’t have too much to complain about!
Oh, I mean the state of our world is terrifying which is really upsetting. Le sigh.
Can you believe I only read one book this month? I think it’s because I watched a lot of TV and listened to lots of podcasts while traveling. I was also having some issues with my Kindle being buggy but luckily they got sorted out!
This month I read Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris and it was straight up terrifying. It was a good read but really, really intense, so tread lightly friends!
What did you get into this month?
