2014 has really been such an awesome year. Not only has it been a year of a lot of personal and professional growth, but it’s the first year I’ve really felt like an adult. Today I’m taking a page from Steph’s notebook and sharing some of my favorite finds from 2014!
How many times have you read something or maybe been browsing on Pinterest and want to save the article for later? Enter Pocket. It’s so handy– it’s basically a virtual “pocket” that syncs with all of your devices so you can read articles of interest later! Here is a great tutorial that really explains how you can use the app.
How many times can I talk about this on here? Not sure. But check it out— it’s a free app that works on your smart phone and computer that can organize all aspects of your life into digital notebooks. Word.
I have always been a white wine kind of girl… until recently. Now I just can’t say no to a good glass of red. Is this what getting older feels like?
One day, I stumbled into this little makeup store and my mind was BLOWN. I love it! It costs like $15 and after using it ONE time my face was basically glowing. Highly recommend.
2014 will forever be known as the year of gel manicures. Please note, I live in China so it costs $20 for a manicure that lasts 2 weeks. I’m addicted. Gina and I go bi weekly and usually eat dinner at this cute little Italian restaurant near the nail salon. Is anyone else addicted to gel manicures like I am?
Hats are, in my opinion, sort of like lipstick. You’re probably scared to wear them (I get it, it can totally be nerve wracking to step outside your comfort zone) but I have totally given hats some lovin’ this year.
If you’ve been a longtime reader of The Rachael Way, you know my love of filled in brows, which started this summer, thanks to Juliette. Go take the thirty seconds every morning to give those brows some love, and I promise you will feel more pulled together.
I have forever been in LOVE with Harry Potter, but for some reason this year I took it to a new level. I re-read the books after college graduation and am rereading them now again. I incorporate HP into my classroom as much as I can. I’ve been known to talk to guys at bars and ask if they like HP, and if they don’t, stop talking to them. What can I say, I’m a Potterhead!
If you’e looking for a planner that will rock your world, look no further than the Day Designer. It’s an awesome planner that not only looks great, but can combine your blog/business life into your personal life. I already ordered mine for 2015 and my mom is shipping it to me this week!
What are some of your favorite finds you’ve discovered (or re-discovered) this year?
Have you met Oyla from The Siberian American yet?
I named my blog The Siberian American because being born in Siberia is such a huge part of my identity. Although I now live in Texas, my parents kept many Russian traditions (and crazy superstitions!) alive for my brother and me growing up. I am passionate about travel and believe a girl can never have too many dresses. On my blog, I write about my travel adventures, my adorable Corgi mix, our journey through my hubby’s medical school and upcoming residency, and all the things that make me happy.
What is your best blogging tip?
Be yourself and build relationships with other bloggers! My favorite part about blogging is the community. I have “met” so many great people through blogging.
What are five words you would use to describe yourself?
encourager, traveler, editor, med-school wife, blogger. 🙂
What would your last meal on earth be?
Crab legs and sushi…with tiramisu and raspberries for dessert!
