My blogging friend Alyssa from the wonderful internet corner of alyssagoesbang is hosting a non-challenge blogging challenge; so if you’re looking for some blogging inspiration, check out her linkup!
The prompt is to share what blog posts we want to write/have written but haven’t published yet. I have quite the list– after all, I’ve been blogging for over five years! Here’s what’s been (forever) sitting in my drafts.
Traveling Mistakes I’ve Made (and how to avoid them yourself)
I haven’t published this post yet for two reasons; one, I honestly haven’t finished writing it yet, and two, I am nervous you might judge me. I have made some pretty dumb decisions while traveling (like drinking so much I black out and get lost to riding an elephant unethically) that I don’t want you to hold it against me.
Why Being Single Rocks
I remember when I was in college (how did I graduate over two years ago?!) my blogging friend Juliette posted this post about things single girls need to hear; and I’d love to write my own variation of this post. I haven’t published it yet because.. well, sometimes I feel like there isn’t enough awesome things to say about being single. I know, I’m a feminist and am not supposed to admit that but it’s the truth. Eventually I’ll publish this, because there are some truly wonderful and transformative things about being single, but I’m not there yet. It’s a process 🙂 (I’ve been very open about my biggest fear, so it’s no surprise I’m not there yet).
Things I’ve Learned About Myself Since Moving Abroad
TL;DR: I’m a liberal feminist killjoy now. haha. I’m wayyyy more open minded and have a million percent more clarity. But maybe that’s a part of growing up? We’ll never know 😉
The Traveler’s Diary series
So over a year ago, I started writing and making graphics for a mini series for The Rachael Way called The Traveler’s Diary. My goal was to share traveling tips and tricks, like how I plan my trips and my favorite travel apps. I never published this because, to be honest, writing posts like that aren’t really my scene right now… they take a lot of time. But I really should get around to this!
How I afford to travel
This is one of the most asked questions in my personal life (lol).. how on earth I can travel to 3ish countries on a year on a teacher’s salary?!
The big reason why I haven’t written a post on it? Because the answer is simple and a little awkward to admit: teachers in Asia actually make money. I don’t pay for my apartment (I literally live at my school’s campus, so there’s that), have no bills, and tutor 7 hours a week on top of my normal 8-4 teaching schedule. (The going rate for an English tutor in Shanghai starts at about $50USD/hour. I know, it’s insane). See, even typing that above statement makes me feel weird and a little uncomfortable.
Eventually, I do plan on writing a blog post about how I use credit cards to get free airline miles. It’s not at all as hard as it sounds!
What are some blog posts you’ve written but haven’t published?
