After I graduated college, I made a little “Post grad bucket list”. There aren’t a lot of things on there, mostly because I’m leaving the country in aprox 62 days, but one was to reread the entire Harry Potter series. I am currently almost done with the fourth book. It’s taking me longer than I thought, because I tend to read multiple books at the same time. After I finish the book, I watch the movie. And I’m falling in love with the series ALL OVER AGAIN.
Here are some of things Harry Potter has taught me.
I love blogging because you make the greatest friendships. You find the coolest little shops that you never would have stumbled upon otherwise. But the main reason I love blogging is because I do not write in a journal everyday like I should. My blog is a way to document what happened in my life, different thoughts I was experiencing at this point in time so that one day I can look back and remember how my life used to be.
Explain your blog name to us.
Polka Dots & Palindromes came about a few months ago after I realized my blog (previously named Words as Palindromes) needed to be revamped. A palindrome is a word that is spelled the same forwards and backwards—like my name, Hannah! And I absolutely LOVE polka dots. So still keeping with a bit of my previous title, I added some alliteration, and Polka Dots & Palindromes was born!
Why are you going to grad school?
I am going to grad school so that I can work my dream job for the rest of my life and become a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. I recently graduated with my Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders, but in order to practice and be a full SLP, you need to have your Master’s degree.
How do you keep it all organized on the blog?
I try to schedule all of my posts if possible at least a day or two, if not more ahead of time. I have a “stick note” calendar on my computer with one sticky note per week with the dates & post ideas written out. If I write the post, schedule it, add photos, and schedule the social media, it gets bolded so I know that day is finished. Scheduling everything ahead of time really helps me stay organized.
This is a tough one! But I would have to say that it is a three-way tie between 27 Dresses, Rain Man, and Ladder 49.
